KEITH MERVYN WARD |

|
Keith Mervyn Ward was born 1961 in St. James Trinidad. He spent his early years in Belmont, where he started his art by drawing houses in his community. A versatile self-taught artist, Keith works confidently in a variety of media including oils, watercolours, inks, acrylic, charcoal, pastels, wood and clay sculptures, and mixed media. His Caribbean palette and painterly style produces art-works that are both vibrant and animated. His themes explore from landscapes, abstracts and nudes to social and cultural compositions. Driven by a passion for a distinct self-expression coupled with a oneness with nature, his work reflects both a psychological and realistic light. Vibrant colours and strong brush strokes are a dominant aspect of his work. Keith believes that his work reflects his philosophical outlook. Hence he strives to improve his visual expressions by continually enhancing his spiritual growth and artistic competence. He has been exhibiting since 1998 in the Caribbean and the United States. |
